Autumn Classic, Hawrelak Park, Info at

This is the major meet for young athletes in Northern Alberta.  Unfortunately it clashes with Provincial High Schools Championships so the high school field is very small.  Please enter yourselves. This is a great meet for those in elementary and junior high schools.  If you plan to race please let coach George know so that he will know who to look out for.  This is important – if no-one lets him know they will be there he will not go to the meet.

Details are now on the Athletics Canada website   FYI Phil has a Swoop flight booked leaving Edmonton Nov 28th at 11.50, returning Dec. 1st at 9.45.  Flight including carry on bag was less than $200.  Meet hotel is the Sandman Inn, cost for 3 nights about $450 inc tax. There is other less expensive accommodation available but staying at the meet hotel does have some advantages,  For example they usually have free shuttle transportation to and from the course.  If you plan to go let Phil know ASAP.  The club will pay entry fees for this meet.  Book early for the best prices and best selection of accommodation.

Please note this year there is an under 16 section – on a trial basis.

One important change from previous years – women’s under 18 race is 6km instead of the traditional 4km.

The date is almost upon us and we are looking forward to a great turn out from both present and past members.  Don’t miss out!  A big night for the club.  Hopefully you will all plan on attending .  Details on the web page Please spread the word to anyone you  know who has been involved in the Harriers over the years. Our major social event of the year.  Ticket sales end Saturday Oct 19th

 Congratulations to
Olivia Cooper recipient of the Jimmie Condon Scholarship at the University of Alberta.  This is the university’s highest award recognising  a combination of athletics and scholastic achievement.  Very well done, Olivia – richly deserved!

All our athletes who performed so well in various cross country meets over the last few weeks – more details later.  Special good wished to all the Harriers (and there are a lt of them) who qualified to represent the Edmonton Zone in Provincial High Schools Championships.
