UPCOMING MEETS

All club races are open to anyone in the club who is a member in good standing. School meets are, of course, limited to school athletes.  There are no qualifications for Provincial Club Championships (Nov. 2nd at Wetaskiwin) or even National Championships i(Nov. 30th in Abbotsford).

If parents are planning to attend provincial high school championships Oct. 19th in Eagle Butte we suggest you book accommodation as soon as possible. Apparently a lot of the accommodation is booked already. Nearest centre is Medicine Hat.  Accommodation for athletes is arranged by the zone co-ordinators.and there are usually two buses to take the Edmonton Zone team. I assume they will travel down Friday, Oct. 18th probably leaving about noon.  If the pattern of previous years is repeated they will return immediately after the final race and awards, arriving late Saturday night.

Anyone planning to go to Abbotsford for the Canadian Championships keep checking suitable air travel as fares can vary greatly.  If you spot a great deal please let Phil know so he can spread the word.

We might possibly run in one of the Alberta Colleges meets if there is one that suits us with regard to timing

HARRIERS ELEMENTARY MEET Sept 11th at Callingwood

A big turn out for our first meet of the season with almost 1000 runners, about 100 more than last year for this meet. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped out and, of course to Vernon who somehow managed to get the results finished and posted on the web site the night following the meet.  Results are on the ellis timing web site www.ellistiming.ca
